Salary Range: $220,000 - $265,000 annually

Job Description

  • A seasoned systems/network engineer with over 20 hands on years’ experience preferably in an intelligence community environment. 

  • The candidate should have experience with CISCO switches, routers and firewalls, dell and other servers, network laptops, network debug and analysis tools such as Wirehsark and Tripwire. 

  • The candidate should also have experience with devices such as Palo Alto, Haipe or other security appliances. 

Education & Experience

  • Network security hardening experience 

  • Specific knowledge of CISCO switches, routers and firewalls to include the Cisco 9300 series switches 

  • Demonstrated ability to design and develop rack configurations drawings and network diagrams 

  • Expertise and knowledge of switches, routers, firewalls, security appliances and architectures of network as a service 

  • Network security and network hardening experience in DoD environments 

  • Support for SSP development 

  • Network Troubleshooting 

  • Evaluation of message receiving functions 

  • Assessment of Acks and Nacks 

  • Ability to understand specific functions 

  • Drawing and configuration of racks 

  • Assess if network is configured correctly 

  • Review firewall traffic (use of Packet Tools and Tripwire) 

  • Tools: Wireshark and others 

  • Ability to determine which side of the network problem is from a connection standpoint 

  • Network Requirements Evaluation and developing network diagrams in Visio, PowerPoint and Excel 

  • Physical Network Construction (installation of switches, fiber, cables security devices and more) on SERD for SCS/ESB 

  • Assistance to tamper and concealment group in assessing needs for design and deployed network 

  • HAIPE MTU assessment and review 

  • Fiber installation and removal 

  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence and similar tools 

  • IAT Level 2 Certification required.

  • Salary ranges are determined by multiple factors, including but not limited to: Knowledge, skills, & abilities, Years of experience, Education/Certifications, Program placementDuties & responsibilities, and Internal equity. More detailed information will be provided once those factors are known and addressed. 

  • OVERTIME STATEMENT: 40 hours is the standard workweek. Some programs may allow additional hours to be worked as needed. A limited number of programs have on-call requirements where compensation is provided for being engaged to wait. In all circumstances, technical employees will be paid for all time worked.

  • BONUS STATEMENT: All billable employees are eligible to earn quarterly bonuses that are based on the number of hours worked for that period. This hourly requirement is roughly 92% of hours available to bill in a given quarter. Quarterly Hours Bonuses are paid out on the same payroll as the time worked in that prior quarter (typically 21 days after the quarter ends.)
