
Job Description

Daily troubleshooting of Linux, Windows, Red Hat 6, 7, 8, and 9 Operating Systems

Ubuntu support
-
Oversee cross-platform virtual machine lifecycles across Linux Windows hypervisor environments (possibly Windows), optimizing resource allocation and compute capacity

Design, deploy, and manage multi-tenant enterprise OpenStack platforms
-
Maintain and manage various versions of OpenStack across multi-region deployments
-
Write and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Ansible and Puppet
-
May include developing end-to-end Python and Bash scripts to automate daily operational tasks, reduce manual toil, and streamline system provisioning workflows
-
Manage YUM repos (GOTS repository management)

Utilize Naemon and Grafana diagnostic tooling to execute systemic performance analysis and proactively address health degraded states
-
Troubleshoot issues across Nova, Neutron, Cinder, and Keystone services
Education & Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline with 14 years of relevant experience as a Systems Engineer OR 19 years of Systems Engineering experience with no degree.

Salary ranges are determined by multiple factors, including but not limited to: Knowledge, skills, & abilities, Years of experience, Education/Certifications, Program placement, Duties & responsibilities, and Internal equity. More detailed information will be provided once those factors are known and addressed.

OVERTIME STATEMENT: 40 hours is the standard workweek. Some programs may allow additional hours to be worked as needed. A limited number of programs have on-call requirements where compensation is provided for being engaged to wait. In all circumstances, technical employees will be paid for all time worked.

BONUS STATEMENT: All billable employees are eligible to earn quarterly bonuses that are based on the number of hours worked for that period. This hourly requirement is roughly 92% of hours available to bill in a given quarter. Quarterly Hours Bonuses are paid out on the same payroll as the time worked in that prior quarter (typically 21 days after the quarter ends.)
