GDI - Graphics Device Interface
GDI - Graphics Device Interface is one of three main components of the user interface in Microsoft Windows. GDI is responsible for the appearance of graphical objects, and their transfer them to external devices and output.
We also have something like a GDI printer. This type of printer can work only in Windows environment. GDI printers are cheaper to produce, but rarely used, because very charged to a computer at work.
In Windows XP, GDI began to be replaced by GDI +, which has permanently entered into subsequent versions of Windows, Windows Vista and Windows 7
